How To Do An Impeachment Event

Step 1. Pick an activity

It does not have to be a picnic. You can Bowl To Impeach, Dance To Impeach, Brunch To Impeach, Bicycle To Impeach, Rollerblade To Impeach, Potluck To Impeach, Basketball Tournament To Impeach, Park Chess Championship To Impeach, Flash Mob To Impeach, or even Read To Impeach. The important thing is that you’re doing something– preferably with family and friends, but going solo is great too.

Remember, we want only about 10 seconds of video. The impact of this project will be the combination of videos from impeachment events around the country.

Pick a date

On or before October 27 is best, since we would like to synchronize with the October 27 national demonstrations. However, this project will not end; it will continue into 2008.

Invite friends and family

Ask them to bring (if you cannot provide):

  • a video camera, or at least a cell-phone video camera
  • large markers and posterboard
  • “Impeach Cheney” placards
  • Cheney masks, American flags, or any other props

Placards and props are optional. If necessary, ask friends to come early, to help prepare placards.

BE SURE to have a video camera, even a cell-phone video camera, on hand.

In a pinch, you can use your webcam. Get a very long cable if needed. Or, request a professional videographer from us. If any are available in your city, we’ll send one over.

Plan the shoot

Plan when and where you’re going to shoot your video. Try to be close to the heart of your activity when you shoot your video. Remember, most videos should only be about TEN SECONDS.

At the event

  1. Prepare “Impeach” placards
  2. Proceed with your activity:
  3. Gather everyone for your video shoot, with placards and props.
  4. Shoot about 5 to 10 seconds of video.
  5. YELL “IMPEACH CHENEY!”, “IMPEACH BUSH!”, “IMPEACH RICE!”, “PROSECUTE RUMSFELD!”, “PROSECUTE CARL ROVE!”, etc.
  6. Immediately watch the video, before anyone gets out of position. Make sure:

    7. –People and props are in the frame
    –The sound is not distorted

  7. If there’s any problem, reshoot a 2nd time.
